Our Story

Hi! Welcome to Sparrow Ridge Farm! Proudly using sustainable growing practices for our vegetables and flowers. Located in East Fallowfield Township in Chester County, PA and founded by Jess Kardish and Matt Hritz.

We both grew up in Southeastern Pennsylvania farming communities - being outside, growing food and cooking good food were huge parts of our childhoods.

As adults, we were busy with kids and non-farming careers, but tried to keep gardening part of our lives.

In 2017, we started volunteering at the county food bank farm; this was a turning point for us as we realized this is what we should be doing.

After several years gaining hands-on farming experience and with Matt’s background as a professional chef, we purchased Sparrow Ridge Farm in 2025.
